Adventures with Mom

Whew, what a week. Last week was the Big Brother Bowlathon. Our team raised a little over $1200.00. Very nice. Lots of fun. That evening had a bunch of friends over to celebrate my birthday. Far too much cider was imbibed and I was suitably hung over for 2 days. Classy right? What the heck, I'm 37 now, dontcha know.

Then the Stella was doing her whole seizure thing on Monday and Tuesday. She seems fine now. Odd dog, that one.

Finally got out to visit with mom and have birthday dinner last night. Dad was at work so it was just Mom, hubby, and I. Had a lot of fun. Dinner at Taco Del Mar then silly picis.
This is a fountain outside the local grocery store in Mission, the next town over from Mom's house. It is a huge pot pouring over into a big ol' soup bowl. I'm a little concerned that the "soup" was Tidy Bowl blue, but hey, what do I know. Sorry about the pici quality, it's a camera phone.

Isn't my mom cute? She's so wee.

In my hand you can see me holding a blue plastic bag. Inside the bag was this:

Isn't he great? He's a wrought iron crow. I love crows. Amazing creatures to sit and watch. Wicked smart and excellent problem solvers. Posing with Mr. Crow is my Sockapaloooza sock. Past the heel and almost halfway down the foot. Coming along nicely and the yarn is so soft and squishy.

Here's a shot with less crow, more sock.

Okay, I'm off to knit. I'm almost done my Lionbrand Cashmere cowl, I'm sensing and FO this afternoon. Oh, and I cast on and have knit about 10 inches on a cotton baby blanket. My nephew and his girlfriend had a baby boy on Monday. Do you know what that means? I'm a great aunt. Yipes! And I really need to crank on this blanket 'cause I'm pretty sure the shower will be next weekend.
